Rice residues are rich in C, N, P, K, Pi etc. Thus, when these are quickly applied to the soil, its structure and physico-chemical properties are immediately improved, N losses are prevented, the release of gases, while the use of inorganic synthetic fertilizers can be significantly reduced.

Innovation in our project
The innovation of the Operational Plan concerns the production process and in particular the adoption of an alternative way of managing the rice straw and fertilizing the rice fields using the residues of the previous crop, either directly on the ground, or after their mineralization and the production of soil-improving biofertilizer. Also, the use of the mineralization accelerator, but also of silicon as a bioreactive agent, to improve the nutrition of the crop, contribute to the innovation of the specific production process.
In addition, the Operational Plan leads to the production of a differentiated product (rice) produced using good agricultural practices, while it can be adopted in an organic production system. Finally, training farmers in field schools to learn the practice enhances the innovation of the Operational Plan.
